Anonymous users are users that didn't register with Nabble. All Nabble requires from them is a name that is displayed together with the message. Forums that allow anonymous users tend to have more participation, but they might generate confusion when users provide false or deceiving names. As the forum owner, you can always remove those messages from the forum.
If you don't want anonymous users in your forum, you can disable them by accessing Options > Users > Control anonymous users.
